Professional Certification/Education Grants
The Susquehanna Valley Association of Pennsylvania Occupational Health Nurses offers professional certification and educational grants to its active members for 2008.
Categories of SVAPOHN Grants
- Four (4) educational grants, up to $400.00 each, will be given for the 2008 Northeast Regional Occupational Health & Safety Conference slated for October 1-3, 2008 in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania
- Two (2) educational grants, up to $750.00 each, will be given for attendance to the PAAOHN conference on December 3-5, 2008 at the Hershey Lodge in Hershey, Pennsylvania.
- Two (2) professional certification grants, up to $500.00 each, given for either the American Board of Occupational Health Nurse's COHN/COHN-S/CM or Safety Management (SM) examination, CCM ABOHN, or re-certification fee.
SVAPOHN, Inc. follows approved policies and procedures for payment of various activities within the association.
Eligibility Criteria for Grants (Active Members Only)
- Member must attend at least one (1) meeting per year
- Member must take an interest in the association and its activities
- Member must be in good standing within the association
- Member must actively promote the association
- Member must be a member for at least one (1) year or transferred from another constituency
- Award recipient must use the award within the year given.
Note: Special circumstances will be considered by the Board of Directors for any payment requested or so deemed necessary.
